5,500 years ago

Oldest shoe was found in in the mountains of Armenia (somewhere in Southern Europe)
It is said to be a piece of leather with its front and back laced up
"found in a cave along with other evidence of human occupation. The shoe had been stuffed with grass, which dated to the same time as the leather of the shoe — between 5,637 and 5,387 years ago." - yahoo news (june10,2010)

I'm just glad I live in the 21st century, where shoes already evolved with designs and styles.
