A Louboutin Alternative

I've been eyeing this wedge shoes for quite sometime already. Earlier this month, I added this to my Christmas wish list. I've probably been a good girl this year because my Santa Clause got them for me as one of his presents this Christmas :) Thank you! Mwah!
This wedge espadrille is one of many cheaper alternatives for the Almeria Wedge of Christian Louboutin. (Aldo, Topshop and Jessica Simpson have inspired versions of this pair too)

WANTED: Black Wedge Pumps

Calcagni Aldo USD110
This is so last season, I know, but I still want this. I think Aldo Philippines didn't bring in this particular style (or maybe i'm wrong--I never saw this pair in the local shops).  I asked the bff of my bf to buy me a pair from the USA since he was coming for a vacation but size 5 was not available anymore at the branches in his State.

Charles & Keith SG59.90
I'd settle for this pair as an alternative for the Calcagni. I got to try a similar pair at a local Charles & Keith shop and I was surprised on how incredibly light and comfortable they are. -- well the wedge part is made of espadrille making it light. Too bad their size 5 is 1/2in big :( Oh, and this wasn't available too - just a printed blue one and black snakeskin-ish print which I was thinking of settling for until I saw this pair online.

I forgot what brand this is (can't read the name stamped on it) but I saved this picture sometime ago as I was thinking of having it customized.  A project that didn't push through.

Marguax of Candymag shares what she's wearing for the whole month of August in
"31 Days of Style:Margaux Romero"
I like how simple and classy her style is. Aside from her sweet look, she has uber nice pairs of shoes :p (why else would I blog about this. duh!). She's halfway through and she only repeated 2 pairs so far.
I posted x-large photos so we can take a closer look on her shoes :)

Basyang Aftermath

Basyang, the first typhoon to hit Manila (Philippines) this year, arrived yesterday (07/13/10).  Typhoons normally start early June - not that we're complaining that it just came in now.  We experience Bashang's wrath until around 3am this morning.

Here's what I woke up to. (A heavy heart and) Our backyard after the typhoon.
That's the tent where my sister usually parks her car. Luckily she was on night shift and her car is safely parked in the covered parking of her office building.

Weather's calm now.  No more furious winds and hard rain, Mr. Sun is peeking a little already. Perfect time to wear my leather boots :)  It has been in its box for the longest time since our weather has been extremely hot and dry for more than just a couple of months.

I love love the buttons at the back part. Makes it kinda different from the other pairs sold in the different shops in the country.

Birthday Shoes

It's the birthday of my boyfriend yesterday.
He keeps on telling me not to buy him anything and to just save my money. He's such a girl, right? Saying that but really means "It's okay don't buy me anything but really I'll feel bad if I don't get a gift"

I've been contemplating to buy him either a pair of topsiders or some metrosexual sneakers but being the casual joe that he is, wearing only either a pair of chuck taylors, vans or nike dunks, he might not use it.

So I decided to file a leave at work and scout the mall for a gift. While waiting for him to pick me up for his Birthday dinner, I saw this nice leather shoes in Aldo. Simple enough for his taste but at the same time classy and handsome when worn. I remembered he was complaining that the leather shoes he has looks already worn out (It was the leather shoes I bought him on Christmas of 2008. That's his only pair -- imagine that). It's the perfect gift for him in the sense that he will never buy it but really needs it.

P.S. There was this nice yellow and black doll shoes pumps on sale but its size 5 was still too big for my feet. BUMMER!!!
